Canada is in action to maintain the veracity of Canada’s immigration system by introducing “Preventing Human Smugglers from Abusing Canada’s Immigration System Act”.
The statistical Analysis made according to the Canadian Government our country as admitted approximately 280,636 permanent residents almost equal to Six percent more than the Government’s planned range 240,000 to 265,000 for the last year with average intake of the annual permanent residents the Government of Canada admitted in 1990’s. This is in line with Minister Kenney’s announcement in June last year that citizenship and Immigration Canada and would adjust its 2010 immigration plan to meet the need for economic immigration and economic development of Canada.

Temporary Residents were also been welcomed, according to the survey on temporary residents which includes 182,322 number of temporary foreign workers and 96,147 foreign students. Around 28,292 was the figure for foreign students in the year 2005 and with declaration of the Canadian experience Class in 2008 foreign students those who are eligible can apply for permanent residency from within Canada. As per the study made by the Government of Canada entitled “Economic Impact of International Education in Canada”, foreign students contribute more than $6.5 billion to Canada’s economy per year. “Continuation of admitting increasing number of foreign students to Canada last year through joint efforts among the federal Government, provincial Government and other partners” said Minister Kenney and our Government initiative of attracting students through the Students Partners Program have also helped to admit a high number of foreign students more over from India and China
In the last year its civilized tradition by welcoming 7,265 Government assisted refugees and 4,833 privately sponsored refugees. This represents 63% of privately sponsored refugees compared with the year 2005. “These refugees played by the rules and came to Canada through legal streams,” noted Minister Kenney. It’s very vital role that while our country is maintaining its civilized tradition of providing safe, lawful refugees. And we would not stand by while immigration system is being ill-treated by queue jumpers and human smugglers. Bill C-49, the Preventing human Smugglers from Abusing Canada’s Immigration System Act, which states that abusing of our immigration system will not be tolerated”
