Canadian Experience Class
Canadian Experience Class is the Immigration Program designed for Temporary Foreign Workers and International Students
Already in Canada with Study Permit or Work Permit ?
This is an immigration program designed to help temporary foreign workers and foreign students to use their managerial, professional, technical or trade work experience for their applications for permanent residency. Having earned a Canadian education / Canadian work experience, these individuals have already settled in the Canadian society and have established networks in their communities and their area.
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is specifically for these Canadian immigration applicants. There are separate requirements for the two types of applicants:
International Students with
- At least two years post secondary education in Canada and
- One year full–time Canadian skilled work experience in specific job categories and
- Moderate / basic language skills, depending on the skill level of their occupation.
Temporary Foreign Workers with
- At least two years of recent [in the last 3 years] full-time Canadian skilled work experience in specific job categories and
- Moderate / basic language skills, depending on the skill level of their occupation.
Application Procedure
The applicants may remain in Canada throughout the application process, or apply from elsewhere within one year of leaving their job ( in Canada). The selection is based on a pass/fail system. Applicants could be selected if they meet the parameters noted above, have legally in Canada to work or study, carry a valid temporary status in Canada at the time of application, also have moderate official language proficiency.
